This is such a powerful teaching by Derek Prince. You see many of us use witchcraft to get what we want(without even realising it)...
How?..
Well when you realise that when we control, manipulate, intimidate or dominate others to get what we want.. Then we are in fact using witchcraft (wether we realise it or not, no Harry Potter spells necessary)..
The Nature Of Witchcraft Defined
In fact when Derek Prince asked God to define the nature of witchcraft. This is the definition God gave him, which I agree with. I quote:
"Witchcraft is the attempt to control people and get them to do what you want them to do by the use of any spirit which is not the Holy Spirit!"..
Which can of course include our human spirit, or anything done in our own strength that God is not leading us to do.. For the mature Sons and Daughters of God are led and energised by the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:14)
What Do The Scriptures Say Witchraft Is?
And in the scriptures in 1 Samuel 15:23 when the Prophet Samuel was speaking to King Saul who was using witchcraft (aka Control, Manipulation, Intimidation and Domination) to build his own Kingdom instead of Gods Kingdom. Samuel said to Saul:
"Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft, and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols. So because you have rejected the command of the LORD, He has rejected you as king.” - 1 Samuel 15:23
Misery Or Joy?
Furthermore when we use witchraft (control, manipulation, intimidation and domination) to get what we want, it brings us misery.. Better to do things God's way through God's strength and leading of His Holy Spirit which brings Joy and PEACE instead of misery!
